There are 5 star hotels in Rome; even the ultimate in high-end luxury. Then there’s Hotel De Russie, just about in a league of its own!
Part of the exclusive Rocco Forte group of hotels, it is located in a prized position on the high end strip Via Del Babuino, between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps.
With a secret garden that is like an oasis away from the loudness and craziness of Rome, it features over 120 rooms, award-wining dining options, an indulgent spa (one of my absolute favourites in Rome – the Rocco Forte Spa) and even an in-house designer florist. I usually visit for a club sandwich in the garden or a massage and facial, but last weekend, I tried their famous brunch.
Held every weekend from 12:30pm to 3:30pm in the pretty garden-inspired restaurant Le Jardin de Russie, it’s a buffet generic xanax online affair devoured by hotel guests and locals alike.
Changing regularly, the brunch buffet features things like:
Cold starters including: buffalo mozzarella, salumi, cous cous, marinated and roasted vegetable dishes, frittata, freshly shucked oysters, salmon sashimi. Hot plates including: lasagne, various pasta dishes, roasts (from lamb to beef to pork), roasted vegetables, fried treats (thing zucchini flowers and more) and seafood. A live cooking station that is different each week (my visit had the chef cook up a radicchio risotto). Dessert buffet that is a sweettooth’s heaven… Anything from pannacotta to cheesecake to chocolate cake to biscuits and pastries. Plus a fruit selection featuring whatever is in season. In the warmer months, tables spread out into the lovely garden area. Weekend brunch at the Le Jardin de Russie costs €55 per person (beverages excluded) and bookings are recommended.
