You’ve probably been living under a rock if you don’t know where Calabria is.
Think south of the south of Italy. It’s basically the toe of this beautiful and stylish boot.
Infamously renowned worldwide for origins of organised crime, here the mafia is called the ndranghetta.
But more importantly, the region has a rich and colorful history, a spectacular coastline and typical southern Mediterranean cuisine.
I returned to Calabria for the second time in August this year and spent 5 days in Tropea, located in the province of Reggio Calabria.
The beach as always, was beautiful.
The nearby Capo Vaticano just breathtaking.
The locals so warm and welcoming.
And of course, the food… Well, the food was unforgettable…
Dining on the local specialties was just too easy.
Fresh seafood including sword fish, red onions, arancini, salami and ‘nduja.. Oh and not to forget the famous Tartufo di Pizzo, frozen chocolate dessert.
